Jonathon Soules

Jon Soules is a principal in the firm of Diamond and Schmitt Architects Inc. of Toronto, Canada.  He is involved in many aspects of this award winning 125-person firm, from planning and architectural design and production to management of the practice.  Jon attended the Ontario College of Art and graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Architecture where he won the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Medal for Design.  He has taught at the University of Waterloo and the University of Toronto.
      Jon has worked on a variety of projects and building types.  He was project architect for the Israeli Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem, winner of the 2004 Business Week/Architectural Record Award, the Country Day School Performing Arts Centre and the Junior School Gymnasium in King Township, St. Elizabeth Catholic High School Theatre in Vaughan, the Canadian Chancery in Prague, the Hebrew University School of Engineering and Computer Science in Jerusalem and the National Arts Centre Theatre renovations in Ottawa.  He participated in the conceptual design phase of the Four Season’s Centre for the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto.  His current projects include the Country Day School Fitness Centre, the new headquarters for Corus Entertainment on Toronto’s waterfront, and the new offices and medical operating theatres for the Clearview Institute in Toronto.
      He won American Society of Architectural Illustrators Awards of Excellence in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
