Ron Bonner is the Technical Resources Manager for the UK based Professional Lighting and Sound Association‚ (PLASA). PLASA is a lead trade association in the UK for those who supply technologies to the entertainment, event, communication and architectural industries. PLASA's technical resources include advising the PLASA membership on International, European and UK legislation and standardisation. This also involves direct participation in many standards writing processes. Ron's role also sees him liaising with Government and enforcement authorities having jurisdiction over the UK entertainment industry. Other aspects of the role requires him to keep the membership aware of technical, environmental and safety related issues that have direct effect on their business, and operating an advisory service on any technical or health and safety legislation, guidance or best practice procedures. Ron is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and a member of the International Institute for Risk and Safety Management.
